Playing attacking cricket :- said Azhar ali

We want to play attacking cricket: Azhar Ali

It wasn’t going so well for Azhar Ali till the two-day tour game against Leicestershire, reported official website of ICC.

While on tour in England and Ireland, Ali had managed scores of just 15, 9 and 10 before the one-off Test against Ireland, and it didn’t get any better there, as he scored 4 and 2. With young opening mate Imam-ul-Haq striking 74* to lead Pakistan to victory in Malahide, the pressure was on Ali, but he did his bit to prove his worth with a 127-ball 73 in over three hours at Grace Road.

With Imam rested for the game, Fakhar Zaman opened the batting with Ali and scored a stroke-filled 98-ball 71 too, but considering his experience, Ali might make the XI ahead of the uncapped Zaman.

“We came, and we got some practice games also, a Test match against Ireland – it was a very good game also. We’ve had very good preparation and we are hoping that we can transfer that preparation into the big games against England,” Ali told ESPNcricinfo after the game ended with Leicestershire getting to 226/6 in 75 overs in reply to Pakistan’s 321/9 declared.

The last time Pakistan went to play Test cricket in England – they have since won the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in the same neck of the woods – was in mid-2016, when they drew the four-Test series 2-2. Ali was in good touch then, scoring 295 runs at an average of 42.14, but the two batting pillars were Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq, who scored 340 and 282 runs respectively.

Neither is around anymore, leaving the 33-year-old Ali with a big responsibility in the upcoming two-Test series.

“It’s a responsibility definitely, but it’s a team game, and everybody has to chip in,” said Ali. “Obviously as a senior player, I have to make sure I play my part. And I will try to do whatever I can to build a platform and make sure we have enough runs on the board to help our bowlers.

“It’s never easy to play in England. Whenever you come, it’s always challenging. The English bowling attack is good as well. We are respectful of that. We know there are big challenges ahead but we are prepared to do our best. It’s a big opportunity for everyone. If we do well here – especially with the youngsters as well, if they do well – things will get easier then.”

Ali also confirmed that Pakistan were going to field a five-pronged bowling attack.

“We want to play attacking cricket, we want to take 20 wickets. That’s why we are going with five bowlers. Hopefully, this side will do well for us,” said Ali, perhaps hinting that the five that did duty against Ireland – Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Abbas, Rahat Ali, Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf – will be in the XI come Thursday, May 24 when the first Test starts at Lord’s.

ICC Cricket Committee meets to discuss World Test ChampionshipICC Cricket Committee meets to discuss World Test Championship

ICC Cricket Committee meets to discuss World Test Championship

The ICC Cricket Committee gets together in Mumbai on May 28 and 29 to discuss, among other things, the playing conditions for the World Test Championship. The Championship begins after the 2019 World Cup, with the final is set to be played from June 10, 2021 and the recommended location being England.

Acording to Cricinfo, the potential changes – though not many in number – are significant. For example, the committee, headed by Anil Kumble, will deliberate on whether to do away with the toss, the nature of the points system that will govern the Championship as well as the quality of pitches.

Once the cricket committee finalises its recommendations, the ICC’s chief executives’ committee will take the discussion further during the annual conference in Dublin in June.

Here are some of the more eye-catching potential changes to the conditions, as revealed in a document obtained by ESPNcricinfo. These were presented during the ICC’s quarterly meeting in Kolkata in April.

Day-night tests

India have said no to playing a day-night Test in Adelaide this year, but in the Test Championship that may no longer be an option. In the new playing conditions, it is at the discretion of the home board to schedule a day-night Test in a series. The document states that “the agreement of the touring team will be required,” only if the host side wants to play more than one day-night game in the series. And if a day-night Test is scheduled, then the touring team is entitled to play one day-night warm-up game (of a minimum of two days).

Toss

The ICC’s concerns about the quality of pitches in international cricket are reflected in a couple of potential changes. The first – doing away with the toss – is the most radical. More details on that story here.

Unfit pitches

In a sense, this is almost as radical an idea as doing away with the toss. Given the number of pitches ICC officials considered to be poor over the last few years, they want to introduce tangible and severe penalties for sides that create unfit pitches. “If a match is abandoned because the pitch or outfield is too dangerous for play to continue, and the pitch is subsequently rated as UNFIT by the match referee, the match will be considered to have been won by the visiting team when the competition points are allocated for that series.”

Points system

The ICC has asked the cricket committee to recommend whether points should be allocated for both match and series results. “It (cricket committee) will also recommend the appropriate weighting of a Draw compared to a Win.”

The committee will discuss potential points penalties for poor behaviour by players and slow over rates but the document says these are “unlikely to be recommended”.

Five-day Tests

Remember the hoopla about four-day Tests? Not happening in the Test championship. All those Tests, the document makes very clear, will be played over five days. And there will have to be a minimum gap of three days between Tests.

Ball

As is already the case, the choice of ball to be used will remain with the host country during the league phase. For the final the ball will “likely” be the same as that used to play Tests in the country that hosts the summit clash (England).

Texas school shooting: What we know

Texas school shooting : What we know

The latest mass shooting at a US school unfolded Friday in the Texas town of Santa Fe, where at least 10 people were killed by a heavily armed student.

The tragedy occurred just three months after the massacre in Parkland, Florida, where a former student entered a high school and killed 17 people.

- What happened -

Police said a 17-year-old student, Dimitrios Pagourtzis, burst into a classroom and opened fire at Santa Fe High School, about 30 miles (50 kilometers) southeast of Houston, as the school day was beginning around 8:00 am.

Authorities said 10 people were killed and another 10 injured, as students fled in panic, seeking shelter in nearby homes or shops for safety, or lining up on school fields as the injured were taken away in ambulances.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the "majority" of the 10 dead were students. Abbott said two of the 10 wounded were in critical condition. One of them was a police officer.

Six students and a teacher's aide were identified late Friday as being among the fatalities, local media reported.

Among the dead was Sabika Sheikh, an exchange student from Pakistan in Texas as part of the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program, Pakistan's embassy in Washington said in a statement.

Also killed was substitute teacher Ann Perkins, known to many as "Grandma Perkins," the Houston area CBS affiliate reported.

The Houston Chronicle said Pagourtzis was armed with pipe bombs in addition to firearms.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said searches were being conducted at two residences and "various explosive devices" were found including a "CO2 device" and a Molotov cocktail.

- The shooter -

Pagourtzis, a junior at the school, was taken into custody on murder charges.

Police said he was carrying a shotgun and revolver legally owned by his father under a long coat when he opened fire on fellow students.

Abbott said journal entries by the suspect suggested he wanted to commit suicide but that "he gave himself up."

Abbott also said there were no "warning signs" about the suspect ahead of time although he did post a picture on his Facebook page of a T-shirt with the words "Born to Kill" on it.

Law enforcement authorities were questioning two "people of interest," the governor said. One may have "certain information," he said, and the other had some "suspicious reactions."

- Political reaction -

US President Donald Trump expressed "sadness and heartbreak" over what he called an "absolutely horrific" incident -- the second mass shooting in Texas in six months -- and ordering flags to fly at half staff on all public buildings.

Trump, who has previously favored arming teachers, acknowledged that "this has been going on too long in our country."

"My administration is determined to do everything in our power to protect our students, secure our schools, and to keep weapons out of the hands of those who pose a threat to themselves, and to others," he said.

Survivors of February's high school shooting in Parkland, Florida voiced solidarity and vowed to press on with their campaign for tighter gun laws.

Meesha Shafi against Ali Zafar

Meesha shafi questions why half dozen women coming out against Ali Zafar hasn’t been enough

It seems it is only just the beginning of the constant re-surging of the Ali Zafar Vs Meesha Shafi scandal and although Shafi has mostly kept quiet, that does not mean that the 26 year old singer will back down any time soon.

When Zafar tweeted a while back that his legal team had taken action against Shafi on her allegations, it was not long after that Shafi’s legal team and counsel responded to the Mere Brother Ki Dulhan actor where they asked Zafar to apologize to Shafi and all the other women he had harassed.

After keeping her silence from directly engaging with the criticism that has come forward against her, The Zalima singer took to Twitter to remind naysayers that she is not the only victim.

She responded to a comment by a twitter user who asked her to not only focus on Ali Zafar;
“Yes, only he harassed me but he didn’t harass me only. Get it?” she fired back. “Half a dozen other women coming forward are not enough for you all? How many will it take? Please share a number.”

And fans have been all for supporting this statement

7:- There is much more to life than just running their bussiness. They spend quality time with their family. They take breaks , vacations and full focus

8:- None of the entrepreneurs I,ve studied have become successful solely of their own accmrd. They,ve all built a team a loyat , creative and skilled people. To be a successful entrepreneur , you need to know how to delegate. You need to be able to allow others to become involved and make decisions in their areas of responsibility

4:- Not only do successful entrepreneurs determine what their passion is , they make an all-out effort to ensure that they whole heartedly follow the passion

5:- The more they learn , the more they discover what they don,t know. To truly succeed , you have to learn from your experiences in life. You need to keep an open mind and be prepared to handle criticism the right way , as evidenced on creativelive

6:- Steve jobs was the master of saying no. When he returned to Apple in 1997 , the company had a range of 350 products. Jobs reduced this number to 10 products in two-year period. He was able to give Apple a real focus , a process they continue to this day
